Content was never the hard part.

Your organization wants AI adoption. Your learners want training that works. And you’re being asked to do more, faster, with tools that can draft a full course outline in seconds.

But people learn when they retrieve, make, practice and apply. Designing for that is still the trainer’s job, and it matters more now, not less. This workshop shows you how to use AI to do that job better, while keeping it human.

Choose your focus

Everyone works through the same core. You pick the project that fits your role.

Leading AI upskilling

“We've been told to get everyone using AI. The demos didn't change anything.”

Design an AI-upskilling program for one real team, built on the Accelerated Learning cycle so it changes how people work, not just what they've seen.

  • A program blueprint you can launch
  • Team norms for using AI well
  • A 30-day follow-through plan

Your role as a trainer in an age of AI

“AI does in an hour what took me a week. Where do I fit?”

Redesign one of your own courses with AI as a design partner, and strengthen the human-centered parts that make learning stick.

  • A redesigned course segment
  • Your own prompt library
  • A checklist for judging AI-generated drafts

Two methods, used together

Accelerated Learning

Developed by interactive-learning pioneer Dave Meier, the Accelerated Learning cycle engages learners with authentic activities so they drive their own learning. Its four phases shape every day of this workshop.

  • Preparation opens learners up and connects them to the goal.
  • Presentation brings in new knowledge in engaging ways.
  • Practice lets learners work with it until it's theirs.
  • Performance carries it onto the job, where it counts.

Be AI-gile

Created by Josh Yavelberg, PhD, Be AI-gile is a way of knowing grounded in learning theory, not a checklist. AI widens the gap between the work people are asked to do and what they were trained for. Used wisely, it also helps them cross it.

  • Be: human-centered
  • AI: AI-enabled
  • gile: agile-minded
  • Four tenets put it into practice: observe the chaos; start lighter and move faster; act with intention; reflect and reframe.

How the three days run

  1. Day 1

Learning how to learn when AI is in the room

The Accelerated Learning cycle, refreshed with current learning science. What AI changes, what it doesn't, and a map of your own work showing where AI helps and where it hurts.

  2. Day 2

Be AI-gile on a real problem

Take your project through the four tenets, building with AI and learning while doing. Practice judging AI output against a standard instead of accepting what merely sounds right.

  3. Day 3

    Integration and transfer

Teach a segment to your peers and defend your solution. Set team norms for AI, contribute to a shared use-case library, and leave with a 30-day plan and an accountability partner.

A follow-up session a few weeks later helps you review what's working and plan your next step.

Questions

Do I need technical or AI experience?

No. If you can use a web browser, you're ready. The method matters more than the tool.

Which AI tools will we use?

Any you like. The workshop is tool-agnostic, so bring whatever AI tool you use or want to try, plus a laptop.

What should I bring?

One real course you own, or one AI-upskilling initiative you're responsible for. You'll work on it all three days.

Can my team attend together?

Yes, and it helps, since teams leave with shared AI norms. Groups of three or more save 10%. Fill out the registration form, then pay the team rate with PayPal or request an invoice.

How do I pay?

After you fill out the registration form, you can pay online with PayPal or request an invoice and pay by check.

Where should I stay?

The workshop is at Bella Vista Suites, 335 Wrigley Drive in downtown Lake Geneva, across from the lake. To stay on site, call the hotel at (262) 248-2100 to book a room.

Is there follow-up after the workshop?

Yes. A short follow-up session a few weeks later to review progress and plan your next step.

What about my company's data?

Use only material you're cleared to share with AI tools. We'll cover how to decide what's safe during the workshop.
